Equal Pay Day
Wear red on April 4 Equal Pay Day to symbolize how far women and minorities are "in the red" with their pay. This date symbolizes how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year. It is far worse for women of color.
UCF will host two events:
• Equal Pay Day promotion: Come say why you deserve equal pay. Stickers will be given out.
8 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Student Union Atrium.
• Group photo: Everyone is welcome to join in the photo. Show your support. invite your friends and WEAR RED!. Posters are welcome.
4 p.m. | Reflecting Pond
“Our Equal Pay Day sub-committee members have worked hard over the last few months putting together ideas to help promote this wonderful and impactful cause to our university community," said Chantel Carter, Office of Student Involvement. "We hope everyone joins us in wearing red on April 4 and comes out for the group photo at 4 p.m. at the Reflecting Pond!”
The events are hosted by the Office of Student Involvement, Women's & Gender Studies Program, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, School of Performing Arts, Center for Success of Women Faculty, John C. Hitt Library, and Academic Affairs.
