Excellence in Action
Multicultural Academic and Support Services hosted Excellence in Action, a recognition ceremony for multicultural and first generation college students and families
Over 400 multicultural and first Generation students and their families were acknowledged for their outstanding academic achievement.
These students achieved a 3.5+ GPA in the fall 2016, as well as have a cumulative GPA of 3.5+. Students received a Certificate of Excellence and a Ribbon, and Jesse Pérez Méndez, associate dean of the College of Education and Human Performance, served as the keynote speaker. He encouraged students to continue on their path to excellence and to work towards a goal bigger than themselves. After the program, students and their families enjoyed light refreshments while networking.
